When Penny Kirksey looked into her adopted infant son’s eyes, she didn’t realize the challenges that lay ahead for both of them. As he grew up, things did not go as planned, and she found herself as a mother of a young man battling drug addiction who had strayed far from God. In desperation, she released her son to the Lord, asking Him to do whatever it took to bring her son back into the kingdom of God. Within a month, her son was arrested on a federal charge and found himself behind bars.
