Long before Caleb CLIMBED his mountain, he CLAIMED IT.

Forty years is a long time, but it’s not a lifetime. Caleb like many others, had a promise that took forty years to unfold.
And yes, other people hampered him from getting his promise sooner. He was one of the spies that Moses sent to view the “promised land.” He was a visionary and walked into this land and staked a claim on a certain mountain.

Sadly, out the 12 that went, Caleb and Joshua were the only two that had faith that the promise would be fulfilled. They had a vote that was 10-2, and sadly the majority ruled.

The next 40 years brought a lot of changes and challenges. Most of Caleb’s friends died and he became the “senior citizen” of the group.
But, God is faithful. Whatever you claimed, no matter how long ago can still be climbed!
It took forty years, but listen to these words, from the mouth of Caleb.

Joshua 14:10-13

“And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the Lord spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old. As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in. Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the Lord will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the Lord said.” And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh as an inheritance.

Hey, it can happen for you too. You can still climb whatever you claimed, no matter who or what hampered you when you claimed it. God’s promises come without an expiration date!
