Not long after the POTTY TRAINING is finished, the TRAINING WHEELS are started.
One of my great joys when the kids were little, was teaching them how to ride a bike. After them getting very comfortable with the TRAINING wheels on, I took them off. Embedded in my mind, is running behind each of them to catch them when they lost their BALANCE. Yes, there were a few wobbles and an occasional tumble, but the ultimate goal was met. It wasn’t long until they were riding faster than I could run behind them. And guess what? They can all still ride a bike.
That really encourages me. The Bible says this in Proverbs 22:6.
TRAIN up a child in the way he SHOULD go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
If my children and yours still remember how we TRAINED them to BALANCE a BIKE, don’t think for one minute that they don’t remember how we TRAINED them to live by the BALANCE of the BIBLE. No matter how many wobbles and tumbles they’ve had, the training is still embedded in their minds.
If you are a young parent and your kids are still small, keep TRAINING! The balance on the bicycle will help them to learn to balance life.
If your kids are grown, keep BELIEVING! If they still remember how to ride a bike, they still remember all of the other TRAINING you did too. Soon they’re TRAIN will get back on TRACK, and they will remember the BALANCE you taught them from the BIBLE!
